Bisexual Alliance of St. Louis (BASL or "basil") is a social networking / social support group founded in 1994 that understands bisexuality as a normal part of everyday life. Our goal is to develop a sense of community and mutual support within the Saint Louis metropolitan region. We are simply people who love regardless of gender.
BASL is open to all regardless of age, race, disability, religion, gender identity, orientation, or family style. We are supportive of relationships among people of any gender. You are welcome at BASL whether you identify as bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, trysexual, don't-label-me, or whatever other label you choose, or whether you simply care about someone who does.

BASL has several online groups in addition to Facebook for discussion, announcements, and "classified ads".
We meet semi-monthly for discussion and socializing and sometimes schedule other events.
All meetings are free and open to all.
We have a Social Gathering on the third Saturday of each month. The place and activity varies.
We have a discussion the first Tuesday of each month. This meeting is facilitated by various long-time group members. The meeting starts with a topic related to bisexuality and discussion continues to the end of the meeting (not always staying on the original topic). Previous discussion topics have included bisexual visibility, misconceptions about bisexuality, relationships, dating, marriage, different types of 'bi'-ness, coming out, bisexuality in various mass media, and other issues that exist in the worlds between gay and straight.
To receive notices of meetings, special events, and other announcements, join us on Facebook or subscribe to one of our Online groups.
You are also welcome if you consider yourself "curious" about bisexuality, if you love someone who is bisexual, or if you are transgender, straight, gay, or lesbian and you are looking for a place where you will be accepted for your human qualities instead of for your gender or orientation.
Occasionally organizations within the Saint Louis area request a speaker from BASL. Group members have the opportunity to talk to these organizations to raise awareness about and understanding of bisexuality. Some members have also chosen to join various organizations in the LGBT community to represent bisexual interests.
